Position Overview:

This is a part-time sales and admin role transitioning into a full-time role in 2027 (or sooner, if desired). Empire Media Network is seeking a Digital & Print Advertising Sales Representative to work and train under an experienced Saratoga Living advertising representative until the time of the representative’s retirement at the end of 2026. The new hire will be responsible for helping manage the current Sales Rep’s client base until the time they will take over all the current Rep’s duties. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, help create tailored advertising solutions, and eventually manage the entire sales cycle. Additional opportunities to sell for Empire Media Network’s other publications in 2026 and beyond are also available.

Current Responsibilities:

• Attend occasional sales meetings and meet with current Sales Rep at least weekly to learn the trade
• Watch and learn the process of selling for print and digital
• Assist current sales rep with management of clients (this includes managing correspondence, acquiring print and digital assets, and working with members of the Empire Media Network’s administrative and editorial teams to provide deliverables.
• Work with the COO to insure our clients pay in a timely manner.
• Begin to identify and target new clients in the local market for advertising opportunities in print and digital media

Future Responsibilities:

• Use the knowledge gained during the training period to maintain, develop and execute sales strategies to secure advertising space in our magazines, website, and social media platforms.
• Meet or exceed sales targets and quotas.
• Understand client advertising goals and create customized ad packages across print and digital platforms.
• Advise clients on ad placements, design options, and campaign strategies to maximize engagement and ROI.
• Provide insights and data to help clients make informed advertising decisions.
• Manage the full sales cycle, including outreach, closing deals, and securing renewals.
• Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations and proposals.
• Coordinate with production and editorial teams to ensure timely and accurate ad placements.
• Track sales progress, report results, and adjust strategies to achieve targets.
• Work closely with editorial and marketing teams to ensure advertising aligns with the publication’s tone and objectives.
• Attend networking events, trade shows, and other business development opportunities to grow the client base.

Qualifications:

• Willingness to learn
• Availability on an irregular basis and the ability to transition into a larger role down the road
• Strong understanding of digital advertising platforms (e.g., website banners, social media ads, email marketing) and print media.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build trust and long-term client relationships.
• Self-motivated, target-driven, and results-oriented with a track record of meeting sales goals.
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Passion for the local community and familiarity with its businesses, events, and lifestyle. Ideally lives in or around the community.
• Existing relationships with local businesses are a plus.
