Private Family in Brooklyn, NY (Park Slope) Seeking a Part-Time After-School Nanny

Position: Part-Time Live-Out After-School Nanny
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00pm–6:00pm, with one evening per week until 9:30–10:00pm for a date night (25 Hours per week)
Salary: $30/hour
Start Date: Early September 2025 (school starts September 4)
Relocation: No – local candidates only

About the Family

A warm family located in Park Slope, Brooklyn is looking to hire a reliable, kind, and professional After-School Nanny to support their busy household. The family values open communication, mutual respect, and treating their nanny like part of the family. Their previous nanny was with them for five years.

Children: Two children, ages 5 and 8
Household Staff: No additional staff, but parents are actively involved and available when needed

Responsibilities

• School pick-up at 2:50pm and escorting the children to various after-school activities (mostly by walking; occasional use of family car)

• Dropping off children at activities that may end between 4:30pm and 6:00pm

• Light tidying of children’s areas and handling their laundry

• Light grocery shopping as needed

• Providing care on occasional days when school is closed or children are home sick (optional if nanny is unavailable)

• Staying one evening per week for a date night, until approximately 9:30–10:00pm

Ideal Candidate & Personality

The ideal candidate is dependable, punctual, and nurturing. They are friendly and easygoing, enjoy being around children, and take pride in keeping things organized. The family appreciates someone who respects their time, communicates clearly, and doesn’t take advantage of their generosity. They’re looking for someone who sees this as a long-term fit and who will feel comfortable and welcomed in their home—someone who treats the children with love and supports their day-to-day routines with care.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a similar after-school or nanny role

• Excellent references

• Legal to work in the United States

• CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)

• Comfortable navigating Brooklyn by foot or public transportation

• Driver’s license a plus, but not required

• Must be available to start by early September
