AGRICULTURAL WORKER

Operate and maintain various agricultural equipment including tractors, rototillers, plows, harrows, and cultivators for outdoor land preparation. Clear land of rocks, debris, and previous crop residues using hand tools and machinery.Perform plowing, disking, and tilling operations to prepare seedbeds for planting. Mark and form planting rows, beds, and furrows according to planting plans.Apply soil amendments (compost, fertilizers, lime) based on soil test recommendations and supervisor instructions.

Install and maintain field irrigation systems including drip tape, sprinklers, and movable irrigation lines. Lay and secure plastic mulch, landscape fabric, or other ground cover materials. Build and maintain trellising systems for vining crops using stakes, twine, and netting. Perform regular weeding using hoes, cultivators, and hand tools to maintain clean planting areas. Assist in soil testing activities including sample collection and preparation.

Assist in designing and laying out irrigation systems for both greenhouse and field operations. Install, repair, and maintain drip irrigation systems, including mainlines, sub-mains, laterals, and emitters. Install and maintain overhead sprinkler systems and micro-sprinklers. Check and clean irrigation filters regularly to prevent clogging. Monitor irrigation system pressure and flow rates, making adjustments as needed. Repair leaks in irrigation lines, valves, and connections using appropriate tools and materials

. Winterize irrigation systems to prevent freeze damage and prepare for seasonal reactivation. Install and maintain rainwater catchment systems and storage tanks where applicable. Assist in programming and operating automated irrigation controllers and timers.Regularly inspect and maintain water pumps, pressure regulators, and back-flow prevention devices.

Requirements:

• 3 months experience
• Drug test requirements.
• Lifting requirement of 75 lbs.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures
• Extensive pushing/pulling; extensive sitting/walking; repetitive movements and frequent stooping/bending over.
