JOB DESCRIPTION

Red Seat Ventures partners with leading brands, creators, and organizations to build and scale digital-first media businesses. We combine strategic insight, creative excellence, and operational rigor to deliver content-driven platforms that engage audiences and drive sustainable growth.

As part of our mission to expand into premium Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV (FAST) experiences, Red Seat Ventures is launching a True Crime FAST Channel—dedicated to delivering gripping, real-world storytelling for a passionate and highly engaged global audience.

We’re seeking a General Manager to lead the launch, growth, and performance of this channel, overseeing every aspect from content strategy and audience development to advertising monetization and operational execution.

The General Manager, True Crime FAST Channel will serve as both strategic architect and operational leader for Red Seat’s rapidly expanding true crime streaming space. A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning

  • Execute the overall vision and growth strategy for RSV’s True Crime FAST Channel.

  • Identify opportunities for channel expansion across various FAST & VOD platforms.

  • Leverage audience insights and market data to guide programming, distribution, and promotional strategies.

Financial Management

  • Own the P&L for the True Crime FAST Channel, including revenue forecasting, expense control, and profitability management.

  • Collaborate with executive leadership on business modeling, pricing strategy, and long-term growth planning.

  • Track and report key performance indicators related to audience engagement, ad yield, and cost efficiency.

Content & Programming

  • Work with Red Seat’s content partners, producers, and rights holders to acquire or develop high-performing titles.

  • Oversee programming schedules, ensuring a dynamic mix of episodic and longform storytelling that sustains viewer engagement.

  • Use analytics to continually refine content strategy, genre mix, and audience retention tactics.

Advertising Sales & Monetization

  • Partner with ad sales teams to design and execute monetization strategies across direct, programmatic, and sponsorship channels.

  • Optimize ad inventory utilization, CPMs, and fill rates through data-driven decision-making and platform relationships.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive VOD monetization strategies based on market trends, competitive analysis, and consumer behavior.

Operations Management

  • Lead end-to-end operations for channel delivery, including playout systems, scheduling, and quality assurance.

  • Collaborate with technology and distribution partners to ensure seamless streaming & VOD experiences.

  • Introduce process automation, analytics dashboards, and workflow efficiencies to scale operations effectively.

Compliance & Regulations

  • Ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards related to true crime storytelling—particularly around victim sensitivity, rights, and privacy.

  • Maintain compliance with content licensing, advertising regulations, and platform standards.

  • Safeguard Red Seat’s brand reputation through responsible editorial practices.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build and lead a cross-functional team across content, programming, marketing, operations, and ad sales.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability that aligns with Red Seat’s entrepreneurial DNA.

  • Collaborate closely with the executive team to align the channel’s strategy with broader company goals.

  • Serve as the primary liaison to platform partners, content licensors, and technology vendors.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • 7+ years in streaming media or television

  • Must have previous experience in FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV)

  • Proven experience launching or scaling a channel, brand, or streaming property.

  • Strong understanding of true crime or unscripted entertainment audiences—what engages them, and how to handle sensitive material responsibly.
