Job Summary

A well-established and innovative company in the creative and visual solutions space is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented accountant to join its team in Brooklyn, NY. This is a temporary role with the potential to go permanent, offering an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the financial operations of a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, with demonstrated experience in journal entries and balance sheet roll forward processes. This role requires someone comfortable managing the full accounting cycle and supporting accurate, timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries, and bank reconciliations

• Prepare and post accurate journal entries for accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and other general ledger activities

• Develop and maintain balance sheet roll forward schedules with clear documentation of activity and reconciliations

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure monthly close is completed accurately and on time

• Assist with internal reporting, financial analysis, and identifying variances or discrepancies

• Collaborate with internal teams to gather supporting documentation and resolve accounting issues

• Contribute to process improvements and ensure accounting practices align with company policies

Qualifications

• 5 years of accounting or full charge bookkeeping experience

• Strong experience with journal entries and balance sheet roll forwards

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs)

• High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines independently

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field strongly preferred
