Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU/ICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 13-week contract
• Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU) setting within a large academic medical center
• High-acuity medical and surgical patient population, including cases involving respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications
• Average patient load of 3 high-acuity patients
• Procedures and equipment include: vasopressors/titration protocols, antihypertensive drips, sedative and Narcan drips, thrombolytics, A-lines, CVP monitoring, EVD, ortho traction, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and Oxymizer
• Epic EMR — experience required
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• Current AHA or RQI certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in PCU or a related specialty required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Competency in advanced hemodynamics, pressor management, and care of both medical and surgical patient populations required
• US Social Security Number required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs required
• A competency test must be completed within 24 hours of being contacted — ensure your email address is current and accessible
• Flu vaccine is required; only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional are accepted — personal or religious declinations are not accepted by this facility
• Candidates residing in the following counties are not eligible: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this position
