  • Location: 90% onsite with large client 10% at midtown MSP office

We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide hands-on technical assistance across our organization. This role is ideal for someone who has grown beyond Level 1 help desk responsibilities and is ready to take on more advanced troubleshooting, user support, and small-scale project work, while still providing frontline support when needed.

You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, managing user accounts, and escalating complex issues to senior IT staff. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to bridge the gap between entry-level support and system administration.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Technical Support & Ticket Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated help desk tickets (hardware, software, network, and account issues).
  • Provide remote and in-person technical support to staff.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions in Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
  • Support email, Teams, and collaboration tools within Microsoft 365.
  • Perform software installations, updates, and patching.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees (workstation setup, accounts, access).
  • Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and procedures in knowledge base.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to Level 2/3 or Systems Administrators, providing detailed documentation.
  • Contribute to IT projects, system rollouts, and upgrades as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of IT support/help desk experience (Level 1+ with some Level 2 exposure).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft 365, and supporting Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi troubleshooting).
  • Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
  • Basic understanding of security best practices (MFA, endpoint protection, data security).
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft 365 certification preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating with the wider MSP team.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to documentation and process.
