Part-Time Baker — Pasta Night | Prospect Heights, Brooklyn

Pasta Night is a chef-led Italian restaurant in Prospect Heights, and just across the street sits our sister café, Ciao, Gloria. We're looking for an experienced bread baker to join our small, friendly team — someone who takes pride in their craft and wants to be part of something special. Available to start immediately.

The role

You'll be baking for both Pasta Night and Ciao, Gloria, producing the breads that feed both kitchens and our guests. Core responsibilities center on sourdough, focaccia, and brioche, with the full bread program shaped by your experience and our seasonal needs. As part of the role, you'll also get hands-on training in pasta production — no prior experience needed, just a willingness to learn.

What you'll do

• Prep and bake sourdough, focaccia, brioche, and other breads for both Pasta Night and Ciao, Gloria
• Maintain starters, manage fermentation schedules, and hit consistent quality day to day
• Keep your station clean, organized, and well-stocked
• Learn pasta production alongside our team (we'll train you)
• Collaborate in a small, close-knit kitchen where everyone's contribution matters

What we're looking for

• Real, hands-on experience baking bread in a professional setting — this is a requirement
• Solid grasp of fermentation, shaping, proofing, and oven management
• Someone reliable, self-directed, and proud of their work
• A friendly, collaborative attitude — we're a small team and the vibe matters
• Pasta experience? A bonus, but not required at all

Schedule

Weekend mornings are required (6am–2pm), with additional weekday shifts available.

Compensation

Hourly, based on your experience.
