Development Associate
The Development Associate role sits within the Development Operations team, which encompasses all technology, data analytics, systems, data and revenue processing, customer service, and Development communications. This position provides critical support to the Development department that is responsible for raising nearly $60 million annually. The Associate will provide administrative support, write and edit fundraising materials, and work with the team on data projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative and Communications Support
Support Development revenue processing by allocating donations to the appropriate department based on fundraising strategy (gift coding)
Provide writing and editing support for development materials as needed
Represent NYPR at cultivation and fundraising events for check-in, tabling, and event support
Provide meeting coordination and logistical support
Process support tickets and requests across the development team
Salesforce
Create new users, assign permissions, and update page layouts
Assist in cleaning up duplicate data across all platforms, unused fields, outdated reports, and outdated dashboards
Create and update documentation for existing and new setup and automation processesSupport the Senior Systems Manager with implementation of new platforms and updates to existing applications
Deploy, support, and troubleshoot new imports and data-cleanup processes
Data Processing and Hygiene
Assist in cleaning up duplicate data across all platforms, unused fields, outdated reports, and outdated dashboards
Prepare import files from mail processing and direct marketing vendors, and check processing softwareProcess premium request imports from call center operations
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Understanding of customer relationship management (CRM) systems; Salesforce experience is a plus
Strong ability to learn new systems and technology quickly
Collaborative team player with high flexibility and adaptability
Highly organized and detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to navigate and resolve complex situations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Passion for public media and commitment to NYPR's mission and values
Preferred
Previous experience in nonprofit fundraising or development operations
Experience with data analysis and reporting
Knowledge of fundraising best practices and donor stewardship
Experience with database management and data hygiene

Additional Information
This is a full-time role with a salary $63,000, annually (plus a full benefits package). New York Public Radio also offers comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with vacation time, personal days, sick time and parental leave.
This role is based in New York City (or the immediate metro area) and operates in a hybrid capacity. This individual is expected to work onsite at WNYC’s Manhattan headquarters at least 2 days a week.
