The Bartender is a key member of the service team, responsible for the preparation and service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Working in close coordination with servers and kitchen staff, the Bartender ensures that all drink orders are prepared accurately, efficiently, and to Weather Room standards. This role supports the full bar operation, including pre-service setup, inventory maintenance, and adherence to strict responsible alcohol service and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Drink Preparation: Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences, ensuring fresh garnishes and appropriate temperatures.
• Guest Service: Greet guests warmly, provide drink recommendations, and ensure that customers have an enjoyable experience.
• Bar Operations: Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized bar at all times; ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition.
• Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of liquor, mixers, and glassware; notify management of shortages and assist with restocking.
• Cash Handling: Process payments accurately, handling cash, credit cards, and tips in accordance with restaurant policies.
• Alcohol Safety: Strictly enforce ID-checking policies and monitor guest consumption to ensure responsible service, involving management when necessary.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth service flow, especially during peak hours.
• Hygiene & Safety: Maintain work areas in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards; clean and sanitize tools and surfaces throughout the shift.

Work Experience & Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous bartending experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of drink recipes, mixology, and bar equipment.
• NYC Food Handlers Certificate required within 60 days of hire.

Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to:

• Stand/walk for up to 10 hours.
• Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
• Navigate elevators, high-altitude spaces, and tight areas.
• Work in varying temperature environments with exposure to common allergens.
• Occasionally travel to vendor or company locations.
