Design Assistant, RRL Women’s

Position Overview

The Design Assistant will support the Women’s design team. Support will range from specific product design related tasks to special projects that support the design team and brand. A positive attitude, curiosity to learn and excitement for the brand are needed. The candidate will have to take initiative, embrace change, adapt to learning new concepts and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Help the Women’s design team prepare for all Design Meetings, Board Reviews, Hand Offs, Line Reviews & Showroom Openings

• Assist design team in creating inspirational design boards and sketches to convey design ideas that adhere to the seasonal concepts during the product design phase

• Support the team by executing flat sketches in Illustrator and color-ups in Photoshop for design meeting presentations

• Set up the seasonal Vibe IQ style file for the design team and manage updates as directed

• Organize and maintain all design related design references: vintage garments, RRL garments, fabric submits, trim libraries

• Assist the design team in organizing all electronic and digital files

• Manage all RL Library rentals/returns for the design team

• Assist with ad hoc projects and work with the creative team as requests arise

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design preferred

• Design internship experience a plus

• Passion for the brand, vintage and a desire to learn

• Team player with strong interpersonal skills
