Deans is looking for a motivated PM porter/polisher to join our growing team.

Porter / Polisher Position Summary

The Porter / Polisher plays an essential role in maintaining the quality and pace of service by ensuring all glassware, silverware, and service items are spotless, organized, and ready for use at all times. This role works closely with both the front and back of house to keep the restaurant running smoothly, with a primary focus on polishing throughout service and preparing the restaurant for the following shift.

Responsibilities During Service

• Polish and restock glassware continuously throughout service to ensure a constant supply for the bar and dining room.
• Polish and restock silverware to support service flow.
• Inspect all glassware and flatware for water spots, fingerprints, chips, or imperfections before returning to service.
• Organize polished items neatly in their designated storage areas.
• Communicate proactively with managers, bartenders, and servers to anticipate shortages before they occur.
• Attend to the bathroom to ensure it is clean throughout service.
• Maintain a clean, organized polishing station at all times.
• Assist with light support tasks as needed while remaining focused on polishing priorities.

Opening & Closing Duties

• Polish glassware and silverware to par levels before service begins.
• Prepare polishing cloths and ensure all necessary supplies are stocked.
• Deep clean polishing stations and storage shelves.
• Organize glass and silver storage areas.
• Remove damaged or chipped glassware and notify management.
• Assist with light porter duties as directed, including maintaining cleanliness in service areas.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting trays of glassware.
• Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
• Prior restaurant experience
