Head of Claims Governance and Oversight
Location: Remote (U.S.-based with global oversight)
Reports to: Global Head of Claims
Direct Reports: 10+ (with dotted line reports globally)
Compensation: $275,000–$325,000 base + OTE $350K–$400K
Our client is a leading global underwriter of insurance and reinsurance, operating across four key areas: International Insurance, North American Insurance, Global Accident & Health, and Global Reinsurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Governance & Oversight:
- Lead and enhance global claims governance and operational oversight across diverse insurance and reinsurance portfolios, including MGA/program, runoff, and active claims relationships.
- Ensure regulatory and jurisdictional compliance across the U.S., U.K., Bermuda, and European markets.
- Team Leadership:
- Build and manage a high-performing Claims Governance team with U.S.-based members and dotted-line teams in the U.K. and Europe.
- Oversee global claims deliverables including analytics, reporting, litigation tracking, and audit compliance.
- Operational Excellence:
- Drive improvements in claims systems, processes, and technologies across multiple business units.
- Oversee large loss tracking, financial reporting, and third-party administrator (TPA) relationships.
- Audit & Compliance:
- Manage internal/external audits, compliance with Solvency II and Blueprint 2 from a claim’s perspective.
- Present operational and financial claims data to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Specialty Management:
- Handle London Market KPIs and Lloyd’s/Managing Agent relationships.
- Administer claims operations related to Legacy Loss Portfolio Transfers (LPTs)
- Lead catastrophe response planning and business continuity procedures.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of senior-level technical and operational claims experience across multiple lines (A&H, P&C, Marine, direct & reinsurance).
- Strong global exposure: North America, Bermuda, London, and Europe.
- Proven track record of team leadership in a complex, regulated environment.
- Experience with implementation and support of claims technology platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; multilingual capabilities are a plus.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
