Job Responsibilities:
● Produce high quality radiographs as requested by the provider and maintain quality standards as established by the facility.
● Able to meet general turn-around times for obtaining more common x-ray studies, such as:
○ Chest
○ Extremity
○ Spinal
○ Abdominal
● Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning patients; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
● Properly use all internal x-ray and EMR software to properly document and communicate x-ray studies performed between the provider and radiologist reading x-rays.
● Explain the process to patients and answer questions except those pertaining to clinical observations and findings.
● Troubleshooting malfunctions and calling for repairs, when needed
● Observe HIPAA and maintain patient record confidentiality.
Qualifications
● Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology
● New York State Radiologic Technologist licensure
● Intermediate computer skills
Physical Requirements
● This job may require frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 lbs. unassisted, including assisting patients when needed. Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite service. Requires frequent bending, reaching, pushing and pulling.
