About the Job:

• JOB TITLE: Scale Operator
• REPORTS TO: Controller
• JOB TYPE: Full-time, Non-Exempt
• LOCATION: 50 Portland Ave. Rochester, NY 14605
• HOURS OF OPERATION: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• COMPENSATION: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Scale Operator position is to accurately record weights and measures of inbound/outbound truck/carloads. Record peddler credentials and process and validate payout transactions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly manner, providing quality customer service.
• Provide metal recycling information to customers.
• Transaction computer entries.
• Prepare daily/weekly ATM and cash reports.
• Balance and handle cash drawer as needed.
• Prepares customer BOLs.
• Assist with inventory and production entries.
• Other projects as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Computer competency.
• Weights and measures background is a plus.
• Bookkeeping skills.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Professional conduct.
• Multi-tasker.
• One year of experience in a similar position is a plus.
