Bloom Learning Centers is seeking a caring and flexible Assistant Teacher / Lunch Break Floater to join our Moriches team . This role is perfect for someone who loves working with children, enjoys variety in their day, and wants to be part of a supportive, nurturing environment.

Position Overview

The Assistant Teacher / Lunch Break Floater supports classrooms by:

• Assisting teachers in providing a safe, fun, and engaging learning environment.
• Covering lunch breaks and stepping into classrooms as needed to support ratios.
• Building strong relationships with children, families, and staff.

This is a support role that ensures classrooms continue running smoothly throughout the day while also offering meaningful teaching opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support lead and assistant teachers in daily routines, activities, and classroom management.
• Step into classrooms across age groups (infants through preschool) as needed.
• Supervise and engage children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, and rest time.
• Provide lunch break coverage for teachers, maintaining consistency in routines and safety.
• Assist with classroom setup, clean-up, and preparation of materials.
• Follow Bloom’s curriculum and model positive, respectful interactions.
• Ensure compliance with NYS OCFS regulations and Bloom policies.

Qualifications

• Passion for working with young children.
• Previous childcare experience preferred, but not required— we provide training!
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable in different classroom settings.
• Reliable, team-oriented, and enthusiastic.
• Must meet NYS OCFS requirements (including background clearance and fingerprinting).
