Position Title: Per Diem Temporary Registered Nurse Department/School: Health Services income/Pay Rate: $35.00/hour - $40.00/hour Summary: The Per-Diem Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to students of the college by conducting preventive and sick visits in collaboration with the medical team. this job offer also supports other care providers in the Office of Health Services as needed. Minimum Qualifications required Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Current New York State Registered Nurse License required. Current ACLS or BLS certification. Must have five years nursing practice, preferably in ambulatory and/or adolescent health care, as well as expertise of physical assessment. Essential Functions: • Perform direct nursing care for students in Health Services, to include but is not limited to obtaining clinical history of students’ concerns, measuring vital signs, collecting specimen for testing (throat cultures, urinalysis, influenza test), administering medication as directed (oral, injection, nebulizer), etc. • Triage students’ medical needs, evaluate medical condition in terms of urgency and acuity, further facilitate medical evaluation /consultation and administer basic first aid. • Administer Allergy Immunotherapy in collaboration with student’s private allergist, monitor and evaluate for signs of allergic reaction, implement standing orders for treatment of anaphylaxis, evaluate student prior to discharge • Indirect Patient Care, inventory, order and maintain supplies and medical equipment, communicate directly with suppliers, labs, pharmacies regarding office needs • Communicate with local hospitals and community health providers for transfer of medical information, scheduling of medical appointments (consults, imaging studies, etc.) • Support office coordinators and clerical staff • Train and support temporary Medical adjuncts • Provide nursing services for out of office events such as commencement, orientation programs, immunization clinics, student education programs, etc. Required Application Documents: Resume, Cover Letter, & Contact Information of 3 Professional References About Marist College: Located on the banks of the historic Hudson River and at its Florence, Italy campus, Marist College is a comprehensive, independent institution grounded in the liberal arts.
