Line Cook
Nestled in New York’s East Village, ARIARI is a Korean restaurant inspired by the port city of Busan, known for its fresh seafood and comforting Korean dishes.
ARIARI is a native Korean word that means 'Pave your own way.' We’re proud to be paving our own track, introducing our unique interpretation of Korean gastronomy to New York. We hope to delight those new to the culture and spark feelings of nostalgic joy for those who are familiar. Enjoy the essence of Busan at ARIARI!
This is a full-time position averaging 45-46 hours a week. ARIARI is open 7 days a week.We are currently seeking a Line Cook to join ARIARI. We are looking for an individual with the following:
Who you are:
As a Lead Line Cook, you have a strong passion for food, technique, and an eagerness to learn more, which comes with the opportunity to build on your skills and grow as a leader in the kitchen. The ideal candidate is friendly, curious, and devoted to becoming an integral member of a team that values hard work and attention to every detail. You have the desire to come in here as a line cook and leave as a Chef.
What you’ll do:
- Display a working knowledge of all ingredients and preparation used on the menu.
- Consistently ensure that the station is in sanitary "A" condition and organized at all times.
- Mise en place is prepped, and stocked throughout service.
- Professional at all times especially during service period (Open Kitchen), ensuring excellence in cooking, timing, plate assembly, and communication.
- Promote teamwork and excellence amongst the team.
- Demonstrate an eagerness to refine techniques and a desire to continually learn and grow.
- Sense of urgency at all times, continuing to look for the next project.
What we need from you:
- 3+ years in a Lead Line Cook position in a similar environment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Familiarity with Korean cuisine preferred, but not required
