Food Runner

As a Food Runner at Chica & The Don, you are the vital link between the kitchen and the dining room. Your primary responsibility is to ensure every dish is delivered quickly, accurately, and with care, maintaining the high standards of hospitality and presentation our guests expect. Working closely with the kitchen, servers, bartenders, and management, you help create a seamless dining experience by keeping service flowing efficiently during both regular service and high-volume periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver food promptly and accurately from the kitchen to guests.
• Verify each dish matches the ticket before leaving the kitchen.
• Communicate clearly with chefs and servers regarding modifications, allergies, and special requests.
• Describe dishes when necessary and ensure guests receive the correct accompaniments.
• Assist servers by clearing plates, resetting tables, refilling water, and anticipating guest needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in service stations, expo, and dining areas.
• Support the front-of-house team during busy shifts with a positive, team-first attitude.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and restaurant service standards.
• Help ensure every guest receives warm, attentive, and efficient hospitality.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry multiple plates safely.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
