Hours and Schedule: 35 hours/week;
Detailed Schedule:
- Monday & Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Tuesday & Wednesday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Thursday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Additional Requirement: Occasional weekend events required.
Location: This position is in-person, working from Spring Creek Towers in East New York, Brooklyn.

The Opportunity Hub (The Opp Hub) is seeking a Post-Secondary Advisor to support our Future-Focused Growth and Youth Development programs. We are looking for a collaborative and driven team member with strong youth development and engagement skills who can help expand and enhance our efforts in post-secondary readiness, college retention, career exploration, and workforce development for young people in our community. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in college access and success programming and experience with job readiness and workforce development. They will engage participants through one-on-one coaching, group workshops, and community-based events, helping them explore post-secondary options, navigate college and financial aid systems, build professional skills, and pursue employment or career advancement opportunities. The Post-Secondary Advisor will ensure our services remain responsive to evolving trends and policy changes in the field, helping to shape a future-focused, equitable pathway for the young people we serve.
Responsibilities:
- Develop events and workshops focused on college and career planning targeted to individuals under the age of 26 and/or their parents/guardians.
- Plan and chaperone local college visits; organize virtual college trips to Upstate and out-of-state institutions.
- Provide ongoing support in college preparation, retention, and career readiness topics, to a caseload of 45-50 individuals through small group workshops and 1-on-1 advisement.
- Assist students and families with completing college applications, filing financial aid forms (FAFSA) and applying for scholarships and other forms of financial aid.
- Offer wrap-around support to college-bound youth and young adults, including test preparation, academic referrals, and connection to social services.
- Support youth job seekers and individuals by helping them identify strengths, explore career paths, and understand necessary training and educational requirements.
- Create and sustain a strong job readiness environment that reflects and supports the needs of the community.
- Maintain accurate records of all activities, deliverables, and outcomes; use data to guide service improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- BA required, Masters’ degree in a relevant field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience working at a social services or educational organization; substantive experience with college and career advising, the college admissions process and workforce development programming.
- Considerable knowledge of the youth development field and program development
- Skilled multi-tasker, able to organize, manage and evaluate multiple activities and services.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community members.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately, considering diverse opinions, values, and cultures.
- Ability to track and report on data is essential.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary range for this position is $57, 500,00 - $65,000 [NP4] [WN5] [WN6] and is commensurate with experience.
