The Dining Room Manager oversees a small team of 1-10 staff members in a casual dining, fine dining, or catering/events environment. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role ensures exceptional customer service and smooth daily operations. The manager is responsible for staff supervision, inventory control, scheduling, and maintaining health and safety standards, with flexibility required during peak periods such as evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of dining room staff to ensure high performance
- Deliver outstanding customer service and promptly resolve complaints
- Manage inventory and maintain adequate stock levels
- Create and maintain efficient staff schedules, including overtime for peak periods
- Conduct staff training and professional development
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety regulations
- Collaborate with the General Manager on operational improvements
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years in restaurant or hospitality management
- Strong team leadership and communication skills
- Expertise in customer service and conflict resolution
- Experience with inventory control and effective scheduling
- Knowledge of food safety standards
