Commercial Officer (Seletar) - Commercial Account Management (Asia Pacific & Greater China Regional Customer Teams)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Officer within the Civil Aerospace Customer Regional Team. The role will provide temporary short-term cover for a period of six months as a replacement for a full-time team member taking maternity leave. The role is based in the Singapore Customer Service Centre (CSC) located in Seletar Aerospace Park and is part of the General Counsel function. The role reports to the Vice President Commercial Asia Pacific & Greater China.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Pursue opportunities to maximize profit and cash for the company, including managing or supporting pricing and business cases, and instructing and administering new business agreements to secure these opportunities.
2. Negotiate the resolution of claims, disputes, and litigation to minimize costs and risks, engaging directly with customers across Asia Pacific and Greater China. Help manage any market perception issues.
3. Manage customer restructuring, rehabilitations, and insolvencies to achieve the best outcomes for the business.
4. Lead internal approval sessions to ensure timely responses to customers.
5. Identify risks and liabilities in commercial solutions and contracts; negotiate amendments to mitigate these, balancing commercial and legal considerations.
6. Collaborate with specialist departments within the company for advice and guidance, evaluating and applying such advice appropriately.
7. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, guidelines, and contracting frameworks in line with governance standards.
8. Support continuous improvement and best practice activities in commercial operations and the General Counsel function.
9. Maintain clear and precise communication internally regarding all issues managed.

KEY EXPERIENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS

1. Degree or equivalent qualification.
2. Relevant experience in a Commercial role, preferably in the aerospace industry.
3. Strong interpersonal, diplomatic, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
4. Ability to solve complex problems with a customer-focused approach.
5. Motivated and capable of working independently.
6. Good commercial judgment and business acumen.
7. Proficient in administrative tasks.
8. Ability to prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
9. Experience influencing stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally.
