Job Type FT Academic Campus Syracuse, NY Unionized Position Code Not Applicable This position is an Academic Year Position (August-May) Position is responsible for supporting faculty and student academic activities including providing support to the department of film and media arts and school of art administrative specialists with scheduling of classes, room assignments, expense reimbursements and procurement support to the programs. This position is also responsible for the managing and maintenance of the Shaffer Art building, assisting students with academic inquiries and concerns, processing paperwork, filing, etc. Qualifications
  • Associates degree required, or equivalent related office experience preferably in an academic setting.
Job Specific Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Preference given to academic experience with classroom scheduling tools, procurement systems.
  • Problem solving, multi-tasking, interpersonal and teamwork skills required.
  • Process oriented.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Administrative Specialists with day-to-day financial operations including, but not limited to, expense reimbursements, coordinating travel arrangements, procurement.
  • Assist in maintaining Schedule of Classes. Control registration of classes, set permissions, run reports, review enrollments.

  • Manage space and facility needs in the Shaffer Art Building (in coordination with the College Project Director) as they pertain to School/department spaces and activities (i.e. identify maintenance needs, scheduling events, technology needs, etc.)
  • Hire, schedule and process payroll for temps, instructional assistants and work study students.
  • Provide support to students, as needed. This includes day-to-day inquiries, registration process, process forms, assign academic advisors, provide class permissions, etc.
