Job Summary

Midland Asphalt Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers’ needs. We are currently looking for an Accounting Assistant out of our Tonawanda, NY office. In addition to conducting Accounts Receivable duties as described below, this person will be the face of Midland and answer all incoming phone calls and directing them as necessary. This is a full-time hybrid position and the pay is $21/hour.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage all NY billings and make sure all the invoices are posted accurately in the accounting software (JDE)
• Ensure all invoices are sent to the customer in a timely manner
• Respond and research AR related inquiries, whether internal or external customers
• Post journal entries in JDE to charge each job accurately
• Archive all AR related documents properly
• Assists with various administrative tasks with our estimating, operations, sales, and construction teams
• Other duties as assigned by Regional Controller

Experience and Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Knowledgeable of general accounting principles/procedures
• Proficient in computer and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
• Possess excellent time management skills
• Must be detailed and team oriented
