Job Type Full-time Campus Syracuse, NY Unionized Position Code Not Applicable The Assistant Director Financial Analysis will assist with the development of comprehensive financial planning strategies to support the recruitment and enrollment objectives of the University. Maintain and strengthen sophisticated financial aid leveraging models that inform financial aid award planning and policy decision making. Analyzes and interprets the impact of financial aid strategies on student recruitment and retention. Refines and strengthens the use of automated systems for tracking, managing, and reporting on enrollment data. Develops clear and informative methods of presenting financial data. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required, a Master's degree is desired.
  • Prefer at least 5 years of experience working in related financial reporting, multi-year proforma projections, and modeling analysis of complex financial data.
  • Must be skilled in working with large complex financial planning models.
  • Strong analytical skills including a participative and collaborative team-oriented style.
  • Possess the ability to develop and strengthen knowledge base and expertise in financial modeling of complex student records data.

Responsibilities
  • Assists with the development and implementation of financial aid award policies and plans for the undergraduate student population.
  • Assist with the design and development of complex financial aid simulation models as well as forecasting institutional financial aid expenditures. Stakeholders include: Vice President for Enrollment Management, Executive Director of Financial Aid, Dean of Admissions, and Deans of Schools and Colleges.
  • Collaborates with the Executive Director of Financial Aid to track the annual financial aid award plan and strategy for the undergraduate student population. This includes developing and refining packaging parameters for student awards.
  • Monitors actual spending trends compared to forecast. Must have skills to implement complex time sensitive projects.
  • Assist with the annual review and analysis of the multi-year spending plan model for undergraduate student aid.
  • Consults with senior staff in Enrollment Management and the Office of Budget and Planning on the results. Assist with the preparation of Chancellor-level and Board of Trustee-level reports and analyses.
  • Assist with the development and communication of relevant and informative reports and analyses for use by the Vice President for Enrollment Management, Executive Director of Financial Aid, and other senior staff members.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry-related software and database reporting tools. Propose design enhancements to the enrollment management and financial aid information systems. Strengthen the use of automated systems for tracking, managing, and reporting on admissions and financial aid data.
