Line Cook
We are an established Latin Fusion Restaurant located in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn , currently seeking a responsible, proactive Cook / Line Cook to join our team in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen .
The ideal candidate must be able to work quickly, cleanly, and efficiently , while maintaining high standards of quality, organization, and teamwork .
Key Responsibilities:Food preparation (mise en place): chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients.
Preparing and cooking dishes according to restaurant recipes, cooking methods, and quality standards.
Proper handling of line stations (grill, fryer, sauté, etc.).
Stocking and maintaining adequate product levels at stations to ensure uninterrupted service.
Proper plating and presentation of dishes and garnishes according to established standards.
Portion control following restaurant procedures and specifications.
Evaluating food quality to ensure consistency and freshness.
Maintaining a clean and sanitary work area (tables, shelves, kitchen equipment, and refrigeration).
Complying with health, hygiene, and food safety regulations.
Proper food storage and product rotation (FIFO).
Assisting with receiving deliveries and organizing inventory.
Ability to lift, move, and carry products or equipment weighing approximately 40–50 lbs .
Willingness to follow company policies, procedures, and standards.
Requirements:
Previous experience working in a kitchen.
Experience with Latin cuisine.
Immediate availability.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Preferred (Not Required):
Experience with Dominican cuisine.
Knowledge of sushi or Latin sushi.
Food Handler Certification.
