Description
This role is designed to serve as Chief of Staff to Teneo’s Co-Head of Transactions and Strategic Situations / Head of IPO and Capital Market Advisory, based in New York.
The position is intended to serve as a core driver of one of Teneo’s fastest-growing practices, with broad exposure across leadership, clients and transactions, and increasing responsibility in helping to drive growth, coordination and overall performance of the platform.
The role will play a central part in shaping and executing strategic priorities, driving coordination across teams and ensuring the continued momentum of a rapidly growing platform. The Chief of Staff will support business development, client delivery and internal operations, acting as a key integrator across the practice and helping to translate leadership priorities into execution.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Act as a trusted advisor to the principal and the broader executive team
- Prepare leadership for key decisions, and serve as a stand-in at select meetings
- Proactively resolve problems - that means you see around corners and close gaps
- Coordinate the Teneo network to accelerate go-to-market including across team, divisions, and international markets
- On specific client teams, surface risks and disagreements early, drive alignment where org structure creates friction
- Develop views of business economics and market dynamics that no single function owns
- Drive business development efforts and strategic initiatives in the U.S. and around the world
- Build and use AI, automation, and agent workflows to scale your impact: analysis synthesis, scenario modeling, status aggregation, operational monitoring
- Support important cross-functional initiatives, competitive positioning and strategic planning, from scoping through decision
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in financial communications, investment banking or a related field, with exposure to capital markets and/or transaction environments
- Proven ability to think on your feet
- Have the desire and ambition to do cool things that others haven’t tried before
- Experience managing complex projects from planning through execution, with strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency with PowerPoint and comfort level in trying new things like using AI in your workflow
- Commercial mindset with an interest in business development, market engagement and practice growth
- Highly collaborative and proactive, with the ability to work across teams and levels of seniority
- Based in New York City, with a minimum of three days in the office

Base Salary Range $125,000-$150,000 (compensation for this role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience that may fall outside of the range listed).
Bonus Eligible Yes
Total Compensation Package Includes annualized bonus, 401k match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of additional benefits and perks.
Flexible Work Policy Teneo believes in in-person collaboration when possible. This role is assigned to the New York office, and the company expectation is for employees to work from the office location a minimum of three times a week.
