Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and operations-driven Restaurant Manager to lead dining operations within a boutique luxury hotel on Long Island’s North Fork. This individual will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, managing day-to-day restaurant operations, and supporting a high-performing hospitality team.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong food and beverage knowledge, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to maintain elevated service standards in a fast-paced luxury environment. This role works closely with culinary leadership and hotel management to ensure operational excellence, staff development, and financial success across all dining outlets.

Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Operations

• Oversee daily operations for all restaurant and food & beverage outlets within the property
• Ensure exceptional service standards, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction at all times
• Maintain consistency with the hotel’s luxury hospitality standards and brand expectations
• Monitor dining room flow, reservations, staffing levels, and service execution
• Setup, breakdown and closing

Leadership & Team Development

• Recruit, train, coach, and supervise front-of-house team members such as steps of service
• Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment
• Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing development opportunities
• Lead by example through active floor presence and guest interaction

Financial & Administrative Management

• Assist in developing and managing departmental budgets and labor targets
• Monitor revenue, expenses, inventory, and cost controls to maximize profitability
• Analyze operational performance and implement improvements where needed
• Support payroll, scheduling, purchasing, and reporting functions

Guest Experience

• Build strong guest relationships and ensure a memorable dining experience
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns and feedback
• Collaborate with hotel leadership to elevate overall guest satisfaction and service quality
• Create a guest history program, and mailing list
• Experience with OpenTable and Toast is a plus

Food & Beverage Collaboration

• Partner with culinary leadership on menu updates, promotions, and seasonal offerings
• Stay informed on food, wine, cocktail, and hospitality trends
• Support initiatives that enhance the restaurant’s reputation and guest appeal
• Inventory, purchasing of wine and beverages

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with all New York State and Suffolk County health, safety, sanitation, and labor regulations
• Maintain proper food handling, alcohol service, and workplace safety procedures

Qualifications

• 7+ years of restaurant management experience, preferably in upscale or luxury hospitality environments
• Strong leadership and team-building skills
• Proven ability to manage financial performance and operational goals
• Extensive knowledge of restaurant operations, food & beverage service, and guest relations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require
