Norm Ai is the Compliance AI Platform for legal standards-based reasoning & workflow automation.

We developed the first Domain Specific Language (DSL) for fully representing regulatory requirements in AI code. This DSL, deployed with our enterprise platform, enables Norm clients to transform workflows and apply compliance checks at the source of business activities.

We are setting the norms for compliance processes at the largest institutions in the world. Our client base includes firms with a combined $17 Trillion in assets under management, and growing quickly.

Our Software Engineers came from Palantir, Google, Meta, AWS, Harvard, Stanford, and MIT. Our Legal Engineers are from Harvard Law, Stanford Law, Yale Law, Sullivan & Cromwell, Simpson Thacher, Davis Polk, Greenberg Traurig, the SEC, and FINRA.

We have raised $85 million over the past 18 months from top VCs and global institutions, including Vanguard, Blackstone, Bain Capital, Coatue, Craft Ventures, New York Life, Citi, TIAA, and Marc Benioff.

This Role

As a Full Stack Engineer at Norm AI, you will be integral to the development of our AI-driven compliance solutions. You will work directly with all aspects of our code stack.

You Will:

• Improve the product –both our client facing enterprise product and in support of our internal legal engineering tools team.

• Work on scaling problems –ensure our customers get top-notch availability and reliability on a particularly bursty system.

• Remain on pace with emerging AI use cases -constantly push the boundaries of what is possible

• Bring product intuition –iterate and obsess over the customer's experience

Skills & Experience - Core

• Bachelors or Masters in computer science or an equivalent field, or equivalent practical experience

• 2+ years experience writing Python, TypeScript, or similar for production use

• Experience working with a Postgres database or similar

• Experience writing APIs using a framework such as FastAPI or similar for production use

• Interest or experience in working with a complex AI-driven product, (i.e. streamed outputs, dynamic agentic site navigation, etc)

• Interest or experience in working with PDFs, excel, or file-driven products

Skills & Experience - Pluses

• Experience dealing with database scaling problems

• Experience building highly configured or abstracted UIs tied to editable schemas stored in a database

• Experience working with AWS infrastructure or similar

• Experience working at an early-stage startup

• Excited to work on product and work/iterate with customers

• Rapid Acclimation : Quickly adapt to Norm Ai's technology stack and the regulatory landscape it operates within

• Collaborative Integration : Establish strong collaborative relationships with the team to understand the intricate balance of innovation and regulation

• Initial Contributions : Make meaningful contributions to our existing system, demonstrating an understanding of Norm Ai's unique approach to software development

What Success Looks Like After 60 Days

• Innovative Design Implementation : Successfully implement and deploy significant features that enhance the AI-forward experience for Norm Ai’s clients

• User-Centric Development : Show a deep understanding of customer needs and feedback, translating these insights into tangible improvements in the product

• High Agency Ownership: Begin to own initiatives internally as we drive our product forward

Comp & Benefits

$150,000-$225,000 a year+ employee equity.

The range displayed in this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including job-related skills (as uncovered during the interview process), experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed here reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity or benefits. We offer a competitive salary along with equity compensation.
