Shipping Lead Person

We are looking for an experienced Shipping Lead to manage daily outbound shipments (both LTL and TL) and distribution operations. Background in receiving processes a plus for this position. You will be the one to ensure complete orders are shipped and delivered in a timely manner. A successful shipping lead is analytical, well-organized and excels in communication.
Teamwork on a very active dock is important to their success in this position. Must be comfortable in making phone calls and dealing with truck drivers and dispatchers. They must be comfortable with paperwork and information systems, WMS systems and UPS/FedEx and have great knowledge of outbound shipping (and receiving) procedures. The position requires reading and answering emails on a very timely basis in between immediate dock duties. Will be working with a receiving lead and a Shipping Supervisor on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
Use software to track, check, prioritize and route orders Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, pick slips, bills of lading etc. Direct the flow of packages from preparation to shipment Inspect labels, barcodes and other features of completed orders Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing and other managers to optimize processes Resolve issues regarding shipped orders Ensure compliance to shipping legal regulations and company policies Report to management on activities and issuesSkills
Proven experience as shipping lead Solid knowledge of logistics procedures Experience in preparing shipping documents (e.g. BOL, ) Computer savvy with excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) Excellent organizational and communication skills Attention to detail Problem-solving abilities Highly proficient with Fork Truck/Tow Motor with valid operating certification within the past 3 years. High school diploma; relevant experience in supply chain, logistics or relative field is a definite plusJob Type: Full-time
