Position Title: Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMCU/PCU)

Location: Utica, NY

Employment Type: Travel / Contract

Start Date: June 29, 2026

Shift: Night Shift

Schedule: 4x12-Hour Shifts | 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM

Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care for intermediate care patients including neuro, cardiac, respiratory, trauma, and post-operative cases in a high-acuity inpatient setting.

Requirements:

• Active New York RN License required
• Minimum 2 years recent IMCU/PCU experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Critical Care Course/ECCO (ACCN) required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• NURSYS verification required for all RN licenses
• Must submit updated resume with specialty experience
• Skills checklist matching specialty required
• Driver’s license must match candidate demographics
• RTO must be included at time of submission
• Local candidates accepted (within 75 miles at local rate)

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care for IMCU/PCU patients
• Monitor patients with neuro, cardiac, respiratory, trauma, and post-op conditions
• Care for diagnoses including COPD, DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, and neurological conditions
• Manage specialty equipment including chest tubes, temp pacers, A-lines, Bipap, and Neptune Vapo
• Care for chronic ventilator patients with respiratory therapy support
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses
• Document patient care accurately within EPIC EMR
• Float to other units as required
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain patient safety and infection control standards

• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Floating required
