Workers Compensation Medical Records Paralegal
- Ability to handle pressure, interruptions and multiple tasks with frequently changing priorities and deadlines.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Outlook, TEAMS, Calendar, and Excel.
- Coordinate production of records (medical, employee, motor vehicle, unions, Social Security, VA, insurance, etc.) for defense of file.
- Draft documents (subpoenas, Affirmations, affidavits, correspondences, authorizations, provider lists, etc.) accurately.
- Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation legal practice, legal terminology, medical and insurance claims terminology, and billing.
- Communicate effectively with medical providers, hospitals and facilities, claimant’s counsel, etc...
- Organize and maintain documents in the firm's management system.
- Respond to client inquiries timely and professionally.
- Obtain and process OC-110a forms with the Workers’ Compensation Board.
- Obtain signed CMS release forms and SSD releases.
- Secure records from medical portals.
- Convert diagnostic images for production.
- Capture billable time in the firm’s iTimekeep system.
- Process invoices.
- File/upload medical records with the Workers’ Compensation Board and update clients.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree or higher, 2+ years in an administrative environment.
- Clear communication in English.
- Self-motivated, able to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Attentive to detail.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Observe and assess data/documents in print and on screens.
- Available for special projects beyond normal hours.
- Team player and independent worker with minimal supervision.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Respond to sensitive inquiries professionally.
