Colton RV & Marine is looking for a motivated Staff Accountant to join our high-energy team. In this key role, you’ll be more than a “numbers person” — you’ll be a vital contributor to the accuracy, stability, and growth of our dealership’s financial operations.
As a Staff Accountant, you’ll take ownership of financial reporting, reconciliations, and supporting the overall health of our accounting department , while partnering across departments to ensure excellence company-wide. This role requires professionalism, initiative, and a commitment to delivering results that reflect our values and drive our success.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain accurate general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable with precision and timeliness.
- Reconcile inventory accounts for RVs, boats, trailers, and parts.
- Track and report manufacturer incentives, warranty claims, and floor plan interest.
- Collaborate with sales, service, and parts teams to resolve financial discrepancies, owning every moment to support smooth operations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare internal financial reports with integrity and attention to detail.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with dealership, state, and federal regulations.
- Identify areas for process improvement, being driven to create efficiencies and cost savings.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 1+ year of accounting experience, preferably in automotive, RV, or marine dealership settings.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and best practices in accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-first attitude.
- Integrity, accountability, and a drive to succeed are a must.
Preferred Experience:
- Dealership accounting experience (inventory control, floor plan management, service/parts accounting).
- Familiarity with dealership systems like IDS, CDK, Lightspeed, or Reynolds & Reynolds.

Salary Description
