Coordinator of BRIDGES - Grant FundedThe Coordinator of BRIDGES will provide instructional support to students by superviseing the development and delivery of a curriculum by a team of Instructors to meet students' individual social, academic, vocational, and life expertise goals. The position's primary responsibilities include delivery and development of educational content, educational coaching for students pursuing inclusive academic offerings on campus but outside of the program. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working with students at different levels and using educational strategies and techniques to provide highly differentiated teaching in varying formats that accommodate many different learning styles.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Support & Curriculum Development
»Provide class coverage as needed.
»Develop, track, and maintain program-specific curriculum, learning results, syllabi, and chronologies of study.
»Monitor and evaluate program results through formal and informal assessments and classroom observations.
»Provide direct instruction and coaching to students as required.
Academic Coaching & Inclusion Support
»Develop, implement, and supervise academic coaching models for instructors, including guidance on organizational assistance and curriculum modifications.
»Create and manage a student peer mentor/success coach program with continuing supervision and feedback.
»Evaluate, schedule, and support peer mentors/success coaches.
Liaison & Campus Coordination
»Serve as liaison between the BRIDGES program and college faculty to promote academic and social inclusion.
»Coordinate the preparation of program schedules and maintain the course catalog.
»Plan and supervise student registration and assist program advisors in resolving scheduling conflicts.
Student Support & Planning
»Conduct regular meetings to review and assess student progress.
»Maintain accurate and complete student records; prepare required reports.
»Provide individualized educational guidance and support, including academic planning and course recommendations.
»Assess and guide the function of community habilitation staff accompanying students; recommend support level changes as needed.
»Support students in accessing campus resources and participating in extracurricular activities.
»Post-Graduation & Program Development
»Assist students and families in preparing for post-graduation practices and challenges.
»Serve on the BRIDGES Admissions Committee and contribute to program admissions decisions.
Requirements:
Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related human service degree.
practice Required: Minimum of three (3) years of professional practice supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in human services, education, or related post-secondary or community-located programs. At least two (2) years of direct teaching, training, or instructional practice preferred.
Preferred expertise, expertise, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
» practice creating and implementing person-centered academic planning
» expertise of Home and Community-located Service (HCBS) Waiver, and, in particular, self-directed supports and services as offered by NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD)
»Community college or higher education practice.
» capability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with supervising personnel, coworkers, all constituents and the public.
»Perform well under pressure, within time constraints, with a high degree of accuracy, diplomacy and confidentiality.
» capability to coordinate work flow while dealing with multiple projects and deadlines.
» capability to present complex information and data in coherent fashion
»Must be able to travel between the college's two campuses and other sites.
»Bilingual expertise.

income: $51,346-$68,034 per annum; commensurate with practice. This is a 12 month Staff & Chair Grade 50 position and is contingent upon the continued availcapability of grant funds.
