We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper to perform all primary accounting functions for locally owned company, under supervision of the Controller.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accounts Payable
- Enter all invoices after verifying all goods and services have been received and resolving any purchase order discrepancies.
- Prepare and process all check runs, credit card and electronic payments.
- Reconcile to G/L each month.
- Reconcile to vendor statements and open P.O.’s.
- Accounts Receivable
- Prepare and distribute invoices via mail and email
- Post cash and credit card receipts
- Reconcile to G/L each month
- Perform all collection processes and report any issues to management
- Continue to document bookkeeping policies and procedures
- Reconcile other General Ledger accounts as directed
- Prepare various financial reports as requested and instructed, such as A/R and A/P ageing’s, check registers, sales journals, etc.
- Communicate with Management any issues encountered and recommendations for process improvement
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements, such as sales tax
- Other responsibilities based on the needs of the business
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Minimum AAS degree in Accounting or Business; BS or BA preferred
- Minimum 5 years of related “hands on” experience
- Experience with ERP Systems, QuickBooks experience a plus!
- Daily experience with Outlook, and MS Office – specifically Excel and Word
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Must have a strong attention to detail and be highly accurate
- Solid computer, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, adhere to deadlines, and to be flexible
- May receive and screen office visitors and telephone calls
- Ability to operate machines such as: copier, computer, calculator, fax, and mail machines
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- This is an “in-office” position, M-F, 7:30 – 4:00
