Machine Operator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Bay Shore. You will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and operating specialized machinery to ensure the efficient production of high-quality goods. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who prioritizes safety and has a "mechanical lean" to their skill set.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Setup: Prepare machines for production cycles (including calibration, cleaning, and loading raw materials).

• Production Monitoring: Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed, temperature) to maintain output quality.

• Quality Inspection: Regularly inspect finished products using precision tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure they meet blueprints or digital specs.

• Troubleshooting: Identify issues during the production run and perform basic mechanical fixes or report complex failures to the maintenance lead.

• Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean workspace and strictly follow OSHA safety guidelines and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1–3 years of experience as a Machine Operator (CNC, Injection Molding, or Packaging experience is a plus).

• Technical Skills: Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, or schematics.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Setup and Calibration: Adjusting machine settings (speed, temperature, or pressure) based on blueprints or digital schematics.
• Operation: Feeding raw materials into the machine and monitoring the process to ensure everything stays within spec.

• Quality Control: Using tools like calipers or micrometers to measure finished parts. If a part is off by even a millimeter, the operator has to figure out why.

• Maintenance: Performing basic "preventative" care, like oiling parts or replacing worn-out blades and drills.
