Email Marketing Developer – E-commerce / Retail (Contract)

Overview

A leading beauty and retail organization is seeking an experienced Email Marketing Developer / Digital Designer to support the development and execution of email marketing campaigns.

This role will focus on building promotional, triggered, and transactional emails using marketing automation platforms. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Email Marketing, Loyalty, CRM, Member Marketing, and Digital Design to deliver engaging customer communications.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and technically proficient in email development and digital design , with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and build email campaigns using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Movable Ink, and related marketing automation tools .

• Edit, optimize, and troubleshoot email design and code during the proofing process across platforms including Figma, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Movable Ink .

• Ensure all email campaigns adhere to brand guidelines, style standards, and best practices .

• Collaborate with the Email Marketing team to understand campaign requirements and deployment schedules.

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality output and meeting deadlines .

• Stay current with email marketing trends, ESP capabilities, and emerging technologies .

• Provide creative and technical solutions to improve campaign performance and engagement.

• Participate in process improvements and workflow optimization within the marketing team.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in digital design and email development .

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Media Arts, or a related field .

• Strong portfolio demonstrating digital and email design work .

• Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar Email Service Providers (ESP) .

• Experience using Movable Ink for dynamic email content.

• Familiarity with data integrations and APIs .

• Experience building triggered, transactional, and journey-based email campaigns .

• Advanced proficiency with:

  • Figma

  • Adobe Creative Suite

  • Dreamweaver or other code editors

  • Content Management Systems (CMS)

  • Project management tools such as Monday.com

• Strong knowledge of:

  • AMPscript

  • HTML/CSS

  • JavaScript

• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and creative problem solver .

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision .

• Strong communication and collaboration skills working with internal teams and external vendors.

• Experience working in e-commerce or retail environments .

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with video editing or animation tools .

• Passion for beauty and consumer retail industries .
