MRI Technologist
- Apply knowledge of superconducting magnets and their physics in the operation and safety of MRI systems, ensuring optimal imaging and diagnostic outcomes.
- Maintain a strong understanding of safety protocols governing magnetic environments for patients, staff, visitors, and equipment, following all institutional, state, and federal guidelines.
- Demonstrate specialized expertise in cross-sectional anatomy, particularly for soft tissues and blood vessels, to optimize anatomical visualization and enhance diagnostic accuracy.
- Select and operate appropriate radio-frequency surface coils for each anatomical region to be imaged, tailoring techniques for best image quality.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to interpret imaging requests and adapt protocols for individualized patient care needs.
- Educate and screen patients for MRI safety prior to examinations, ensuring their comfort and minimizing risk during procedures.
- Troubleshoot equipment or imaging issues and communicate effectively with technical service when necessary.
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology
- Current, unrestricted license as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (MR).
- Current CPR Cert or BLS Cert (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as Radiology Technologist
- Demonstrated expertise in patient safety for magnetic environments.
- Strong foundation in cross-sectional anatomy and soft tissue imaging.
