Job Title: RN – Medical Surgical (Med/Surg)

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Duration: 13 Weeks (Extendable)

Shift: 3x12-Hour Shifts

Pay Rate: $2,398 Weekly Gross

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) role in a hospital holding unit. The RN will provide comprehensive care to admitted, stable patients in the emergency department holding area. This position requires strong IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation skills, along with the ability to manage multiple patients efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to admitted Med/Surg patients in the ED holding area.

• Perform IV insertion, phlebotomy , and conscious sedation procedures as required.

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and document accurately in the EMR system.

• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care.

• Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, infection control policies, and patient safety standards.

• Educate patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited Nursing Program.

• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience .

  • Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience .

  • Prior Med/Surg experience in an ED holding unit preferred.

• Certifications:

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

  • Active RN License – State of New York
