As global sourcing and commercial activities continue to expand, the company is seeking an experienced Mandarin-speaking Product Manager to drive strategic growth initiatives, strengthen supplier partnerships, and identify new business opportunities across North America and Asia.
Position Summary
The Senior Product Manager will take ownership of a portfolio of nutraceutical and functional ingredients, serving as the key link between suppliers, customers, sales teams, regulatory affairs, and market development activities.
This is a highly visible, commercially focused role requiring strong business acumen, product strategy expertise, and the ability to build long-term relationships with Chinese suppliers and North American customers. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of the nutraceutical ingredient industry and is comfortable navigating both technical and commercial discussions.
Key Responsibilities
Product Portfolio Leadership
- Develop and execute growth strategies for assigned ingredient portfolios.
- Identify emerging market opportunities, ingredient trends, and competitive threats.
- Manage the full product lifecycle from sourcing and commercialization through market expansion.
- Build annual product roadmaps and growth plans aligned with business objectives.
Supplier & Strategic Partnership Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Chinese ingredient manufacturers and strategic suppliers.
- Lead supplier evaluations, business reviews, and commercial negotiations.
- Coordinate regulatory, quality, clinical, and marketing initiatives with supplier partners.
- Act as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Market Development & Business Growth
- Conduct market intelligence and competitive analysis to identify new opportunities.
- Evaluate emerging ingredients, technologies, and health trends for commercialization.
- Collaborate with commercial leadership to develop market-entry and growth strategies.
- Support customer-facing initiatives and participate in strategic business discussions.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner closely with Sales, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Marketing, and Innovation teams.
- Deliver product training and market insights to support commercial success.
- Monitor inventory, demand forecasts, and supply chain considerations for assigned products.
- Ensure accurate reporting and tracking of product performance, customer feedback, and market activity through CRM and related systems.
Industry Representation
- Represent the company at domestic and international trade shows, supplier meetings, industry conferences, and customer events.
- Travel throughout North America and Asia as required.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Biology, Biochemistry, Food Science, Business, International Business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product management, portfolio management, business development, ingredient sourcing, or commercial roles within the nutraceutical, dietary supplement, food ingredient, pharmaceutical, or life sciences sectors.
- Professional fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English.
- Strong understanding of the global nutraceutical ingredient market.
- Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships and commercial partnerships.
- Experience analyzing market trends and developing growth strategies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong project management and cross-functional leadership abilities.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Preferred
- Established network of ingredient suppliers in China and/or customers within the North American health and wellness industry.
- Experience working directly with Chinese manufacturers and international supply chains.
- Familiarity with dietary supplement regulations and ingredient commercialization.
- Additional language capabilities are advantageous.
