Salary range: $39,763.00 - $60,350.00 The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order. The NYPD strives to foster a safe and fair city by incorporating Neighborhood Policing into all facets of Department operations and solve the problems that create crime and disorder through an interdependent relationship between the people and its police, and by pioneering strategic innovation. The 114th Precinct Detective Squad investigates all crimes ranging from serious to minor within the confines of the 114th Precinct. As a 124 Room clerk, the Police Administrative Aide's responsibilities include:- Takes and types reports and forms on various NYPD applications
- Performs simple clerical tasks such as copying, shredding paperwork, faxing and ensuring the office has the necessary reports available
- Answer phones and routine written inquiries
- Payroll
- Overtime Report
- Have a good rapport with subordinates and members of the public
1. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and (a) One year of full-time satisfactory experience performing clerical, word processing or data entry duties; or (b) One year of full-time satisfactory experience in public contact work requiring the obtaining and recording of information from persons; or (c) Completion of 30 semester credits from an accredited college; or (d) Two years of active military duty; or 2. A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to 1(a), 1(b), 1(c), or 1(d) above. However, all candidates must possess a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent. Skills Requirement (title spec) Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute.
Preferred Skills - Type 35 wpm - Good writing and communication skills 55a Program This position is also open to qualified persons with a disability who are eligible for the 55-a Program.
