Sr. Cash Application Specialist
- Collaborate with the Cash Application Supervisor to manage daily banking reports and ensure timely, accurate deposit processing across platforms.
- Review unallocated balances and closing matters to ensure proper fund allocation, initiate returns when necessary, and uphold compliance with firm policies.
- Ensure that all write off reviews adhere to firm policies and thresholds.
- Reviewing payment discrepancies and initiating accurate and timely refunds in compliance with firm policies and client agreements.
- Act as a resource and mentor to Cash Application Specialists, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
- Identify and implement improvements in payment processing, reconciliation, and data accuracy to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
- Audit and enter high volumes of client payments with precision, leveraging multiple platforms and accounting systems.
- Monitor Cash Application mailboxes, ensuring assigned work and inquiries are handled appropriately and timely.
- Maintain excellent organizational skills to manage and prioritize assignments to ensure all tasks are completed.
- Educate and assist internal staff on Cash Application policies and procedures when necessary, fostering a knowledgeable and customer service driven team.
- Stay current on departmental policies, system updates, and industry best practices to support innovation and adaptability.
- Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects as assigned by the Cash Application Supervisor.
- Establish and maintain collaborative and professional working relationships with administrative staff and other departments within Finance Business Services.
- Regularly communicate with the Cash Application Supervisor regarding workflow, issues, suggestions or departmental procedures and policies.
- Minimum of (3) years of Cash Application or general accounting experience preferred
- Knowledge of Aderant applications preferred
- Working knowledge of electronic billing sites preferred (Tymetrix360, CounselLink, Legal Exchange, etc.)
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs, including experience with pivot tables and data analysis tools.
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Strong analytical mindset with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Regularly required to observe and assess data and documents, in printed form and on computer screen
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, while also contributing to team goals and collaborating cross-functionally.
- Demonstrated adaptability to evolving workflows, priorities, and system enhancements, with a proactive approach to change management.
- Willingness to lead or participate in special projects, including working beyond standard hours when necessary to support business needs.
The hourly range for this position is $21.00 to $27.00. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also offers bonuses, and a full benefits package.
