Location: Heritage Grand Bakery - 8 West 40th Street, New York, NY
Schedule: Full-Time | Nights, Weekends & Holidays Required
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate (commensurate with experience)
We are a well-established New York City restaurant seeking a polished, experienced Maître d’ to lead the front-of-house experience. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who understands NYC service standards, high-volume dining, and delivering exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesWarmly greet and seat guests while managing reservations, waitlists, and walk-ins
Oversee dining room flow to maximize service efficiency and guest satisfaction
Coordinate closely with management, servers, and kitchen leadership
Handle guest concerns with professionalism and discretion
Manage VIP guests, regulars, and special accommodations
Maintain NYC hospitality standards during high-volume service
Support FOH staff and set the tone for service excellence
2+ years experience as a Maître d’, Host Lead, or FOH Supervisor in NYC
Strong working knowledge of OpenTable or similar reservation platforms
Ability to thrive in high-volume and/or upscale NYC restaurant environments
Excellent communication and guest-relations skills
Professional appearance and calm demeanor under pressure
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
