Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multi-session classroom of 12 to 20 Head Start children, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that promote school readiness and support individual learning needs.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with families, encouraging their involvement and supporting family partnerships.
• Coordinate with community resources and service providers to support children and families.
• Maintain accurate records, including ongoing monitoring, self-assessment, and required documentation.
• Supervise and support classroom staff, contributing to a collaborative and professional team environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or equivalent coursework in Early Childhood Education with experience teaching preschool-aged children.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and assist children as needed throughout the day.
• Successful completion of a physical examination, background check, and fingerprinting screen.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
• Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
