Status: Full Time (Non-Exempt)
Salary: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour commensurate with experience
Summary: This position coordinates the operational aspects of the Meals on Wheels program. This person carries out the day-to-day operations of meal prep and delivery, including the scheduling, supervision, and training of volunteers assigned roles in Meals on Wheels operations and serves as a back-up to the front-end coordinator, while scheduling and coordinating volunteers within the Turning Leaf Thrift store. This person is responsible for all aspects of Meals on Wheels service delivery including driver routing, volunteer coordination, stocking, inventory, meal ordering and prep, and attending to all kitchen needs. This position is part of a dynamic senior services team while also supporting and coordinating the front-end and Turning Leaf Thrift store.
Major Responsibilities & Activities:
- Participates as a member of the CEAP team in fulfilling the overall mission of the agency
- Maintains on-site health standards
- Executes meal preparation and delivery for all participants in the CEAP Meals on Wheels program
- Ensures that all Meals on Wheels routes are assigned to volunteer drivers and maintains driver schedules
- Supervise and train volunteers involved in the preparation and delivery of meals and within the Turning Leaf Thrift store
- Serves as a representative and ambassador for CEAP in the community
- Provides staff support to maintain other CEAP Senior Service programs and services as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Community Care Manager-Senior Services or CEAP management
Position Requirements:
- Experience in human services, service industry, or other appropriate areas
- Strong organizational skills, problem-solving ability, active listening, and excellent communication skills
- Must be able to work with a diverse community
- Must be computer literate, and willing to learn new technology needed for the program
- Must be self-directed and detail oriented and able to work well in a team environment
- Must be committed to joining with others to find constructive ways to eliminate racism, inequality, poverty and alienation in our community
- Must have a valid MN Driver’s License and a clean driving record
