Backend Software Engineer

Our digital rental application offers a safe and seamless way to apply and get approved for your next home. We specialize in developing software and services for property managers nationwide, empowering them to deliver exceptional service to renters, while evaluating applications with unmatched speed and precision.
The Role
As an Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative and fast-paced software solutions. In this role, you will own durable integrations, working alongside strategic partners to implement functional solutions across various systems. You’ll enable event orchestration and data access across internal and external systems, powering data science to drive the property management industry forward. You will also have the opportunity to occasionally collaborate and problem-solve with our customers directly.
\n Where you’ll make an impact:- Build robust and scalable software that connects large interconnected systems of disparate capabilities.
- Help improve our code quality through writing unit tests, automation and performing code reviews.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms and products.
- Work with others to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and then translate that into a pragmatic and effective technical solution.
- Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results on schedule.
- Debug production issues across services and several levels of the stack.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, bootcamp or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience in backend or full stack software development
- Experience in at least 2 backend languages (such as Python, Ruby, Java, Typescript), automating software systems, building API integrations with REST, relational databases
- Experience with monitoring tooling (Datadog, New Relic)
- Experience working with continuous delivery methodologies and systems
- Past experience testing best practices in production systems, implementing unit tests and defining test cases
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; effectively collaborates with other Engineering teams and Product
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently find and implement effective solutions; possesses a bias for action

$145,000 - $165,000 a year
