The Role: As a member of the State and Local Tax (SALT) practice, Managers oversee, manage, and complete tax projects; provide innovative sales tax planning, consulting, compliance, refund reviews, and tax controversy audit support. Managers work closely with the federal and state income tax teams to identify client issues and opportunities. Managers are involved in the process of identifying, marketing, and implementing tax strategies for clients. Managers will participate and oversee technical research, sales tax audits, voluntary disclosure projects, nexus projects, sales tax systems implementations and other sales tax projects that arise. Managers maintain active communication with clients to ensure satisfaction, meet deadlines, lead change and identify additional sales tax needs. Managers lead their teams in knowledge of software, processes, and workflows. Managers participate in the professional development of Associates and Senior Associates, which involves supervising, training, mentoring, and evaluating performance. Managers support business development activities (i.e. prepare proposals, present in webinars, collaborate with other service lines to market comprehensive tax strategies for prospective clients, etc.) Compensation and Benefits Our firm offers competitive base compensation, benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program for eligible employees based on individual and firm performance metrics per the defined program guidelines. For individuals hired to work in Long Island, the expected salary range for this role is $100,000 to $204,600; the actual salary offer can vary based upon employee qualifications. Benefits: Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our firm's 401(k) plan upon hire. We offer paid time off, beginning at 160 hours annually and provides twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year. For a full listing of benefit offerings, please visit Compensation: In addition to competitive base compensation, our firm offers annual discretionary bonuses based on firm and individual performance, a discretionary long-term cash incentive program, and other forms of discretionary compensation that would be offered to the hired applicant in addition to their established salary range scale. The Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related degree;
- Advanced credential required (i.e. CPA, JD, or IPT certification);
- Minimum of 5 years of sales tax experience with an accounting firm, law firm or tax services firm;
- Leadership and organizational skills;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a natural facilitator;
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills; and
- Proficient use of technology including MS Excel.
