Overview
As the Vice President, Commerce you will lead the development of commerce strategies that drive revenue growth, increase product conversion, and enhance customer engagement. This role requires a leader with a strong strategic vision, deep retail commerce expertise, and a passion for turning data-driven insights into compelling narratives.
This individual will own the development of retail strategy for the key brands within the Verizon Value portfolio and collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end commerce solutions that drive business impact. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads with confidence, and is known for transforming insights into action. You will provide consistently superior commerce media strategies, ideas and marketplace solutions tailored to the Verizon Value brand categories. You will be responsible for advancing the client's unique position within their key retail customers, as well as defining standards and best practices to deliver innovative and flawless campaigns.
Responsibilities
Day to Day Role Overview:

Key lead for client conversations related to retail media, acts as strategic bridge between commerce media and brand experience team for streamlining omni-channel strategies with key retail partners

Interpret client needs, and develop strategic solutions that address the needs and goals for their business

Partner with Power of One team to deliver connected commerce plans to the client

Direct the development, presentation, and maintenance of commerce strategy plans including objectives, strategic initiatives, updates, and point-of-views (POVs) on proposals

Ability to anticipate and quickly assess continually changing client needs and adapt resources and strategies accordingly
-
Plan and develop cutting-edge commerce strategies from brief development to RFP management with retail media networks and offsite partners that drive revenue growth, optimize conversions, and enhance customer engagement

Provide strategic leadership and guidance, ensuring alignment with business objectives while offering feedback to improve client outcomes

Manage and nurture partnerships with retail media networks and 3 rd party vendors to maximize ROI and efficiency

Stay ahead of industry trends, identifying growth opportunities, and implementing best practices

Supervise, mentor, and develop retail media strategists and retail search activation team, fostering career growth and skill development within the team

Represent the team as a key member of the commerce team, influencing decision-making and shaping media strategy direction

Manage commerce team resources, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities

Collaborate cross-functionally with multiple internal teams including planning, activation, strategy, and analytics to ensure seamless campaign execution and alignment across all workstreams.

Media Planning & Execution - Lead paid search, display, and retail media strategy development.

Commerce Strategy - Drive innovation in display, social, influencer, and onsite activations within RMNs and 3 rd party vendors

Process Management & Optimization - Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements

Communication & Relationship Building - Establish and maintain strong client relationships through clear and effective communication
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree, concentration in business, marketing, advertising or a related field
-
10+ years of account management experience in ecommerce/retail media; 8+ years within commerce strategy, agency experience highly preferred
-
Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams, fostering innovation and collaboration
-
Extensive experience managing large-scale teams in the digital environment, with a clear understanding of media planning and buying processes
-
Strong background activating on RMNs including (but not limited to) Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, Target, Kroger, Instacart and others.

Expert understanding of commerce channel landscape, buying platforms and new/evolving product offerings
-
Demonstrated problem solving, organization, and project management skills
-
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and represent the agency in the marketplace

Strong financial acumen, with experience in driving revenue growth and managing budgets
-
Strong comfort with key retail media technologies such as automation tools (pacvue, skai, etc), buying platforms such as Walmart Search, Walmart DSS and DSP, and measurement partners

Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills
-
Excellent leadership ability to drive team to deliver results

Compensation Range: $190,000 - $210,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
