Director of Quality
Cox & Company, Inc. is seeking an outgoing and experienced Director of Quality to lead the development and implementation of our quality management system. This key senior role is vital in ensuring that our products and services consistently meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The successful candidate will oversee quality teams and collaborate across departments to establish and maintain a culture of quality and compliance throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s quality management system in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and oversee quality assurance teams, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments such as production, engineering, and customer service to ensure quality and compliance are integrated into all processes.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Stay current with industry regulations and standards, ensuring the company’s quality practices remain compliant.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness across the organization.

Requirements:Role and Responsibilities
- Direct a staff of up to 25 people including engineers, technicians, inspectors, engineers and administrative personnel. Hire staff and provide training.
- Develop and enforce quality systems to ensure compliance to consensus standards and customer requirements.
- Monitor and communicate measurement of quality-related metrics to senior staff and advocate for improvements.
- Communicate with customers regarding Quality compliance, complaints, audits, etc.
- Collaborate with Purchasing on monitoring and improving vendor performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency and drive a quality culture.
- Manage budget.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education – Bachelor’s degree in a technical or management related field.
- 10 years minimum experience in a direct QA role with progressive advancement into supervisory and managerial roles.
- Direct experience with FAA regulatory rules and offices in the areas of certification, Parts Manufacturing Approval.
Desired Qualifications
- Direct experience in AS9100.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions in English.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a high paced development environment.
- Ability to direct and manage a department of up to 25 employees.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and inspection processes and data systems.
- Ability to interact at all levels of the organization, with customers and regulatory bodies in writing, verbally and in person
- Ability to type documents from drafts and markups.
- Ability to file documents both physically and electronically.
Safety Requirements
- This position requires the use of approved safety footwear (ASTM F-2413 complaint) when accessing or working in production and workshop areas.

This position involves exposure to projects and contracts subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As a result, only U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) are eligible for employment in this role. Applicants must meet these requirements to be considered.
