Casualty and Financial Lines Specialist - D&O / FinPro / Claims - CorSo

Swiss Re
New York, NY

Locations: Kansas City, Missouri // Chicago, IL // NYC, NY

We are considering candidates who are already living in these metro areas.

Are you a seasoned claims professional with a passion for complex financial lines and a drive to deliver exceptional client experiences? At Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, we're looking for a sharp, collaborative, and client-focused specialist to join our dynamic US Casualty and Financial Lines Claims team. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two claims are the same, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for!

About the Role

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of financial lines claims — from directors and officers liability to fiduciary and employment practices — while working alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry. You'll bring your expertise to bear from first notice all the way through to resolution, all while collaborating across underwriting, products, and international teams to deliver market-leading outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively manage a portfolio of directors and officers, fiduciary, and/or employment practices liability claims with full end-to-end adjudication responsibility
  • Navigate confidently across both primary and excess insurance claim environments, applying sound judgment and technical expertise
  • Collaborate closely with customers and brokers to achieve the most advantageous and timely claim resolutions
  • Partner with the Operations team to ensure effective claim administration, process efficiency, and accurate data integrity
  • Engage proactively with Client Markets teams and support business development efforts through client meetings and industry events
  • Deliver high-level analysis of claims portfolio results, identifying trends and providing actionable insights to the business
  • Contribute to product development by reviewing, supporting, and assisting in the creation of policy wordings and tailored client solutions
  • Liaise with Actuarial, Finance, and Risk Management colleagues to share information and support the holistic management of claims, clients, and risks
  • Represent Swiss Re Corporate Solutions at industry conferences, client events, and professional society functions, promoting our brand and capabilities
  • Collaborate with international colleagues across regions, providing valuable insight into US trends and exposures

About the Team

Swiss Re is one of the world's leading providers of reinsurance, insurance, and other forms of insurance-based risk transfer. We anticipate and manage risks — from natural catastrophes and climate change to cybercrime.

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is the commercial insurance arm of the Swiss Re Group. We offer innovative insurance solutions to large and midsized multinational corporations from approximately 50 locations worldwide. We help clients mitigate their risk exposure, whilst our industry-leading claims service provides them with additional peace of mind.

Our success depends on our ability to build an inclusive culture that encourages fresh perspectives and innovative thinking. Swiss Re Corporate Solutions embraces a workplace where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive and develop professionally regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, gender identity and/or expression, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, skillset, thought, or other characteristics. In our inclusive and flexible environment, everyone can bring their authentic selves to work.

About You

You are a motivated, detail-oriented claims professional who takes pride in delivering exceptional service and sound adjudication. You bring strong analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across a wide range of stakeholders. You're comfortable representing the company externally and are eager to contribute to a high-performing, inclusive team culture.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Financial Lines Claims Experience: Demonstrated experience handling Financial Lines claims, including directors and officers, fiduciary, and/or employment practices liability
  • Adjudication Expertise: Strong analytical, negotiation, and influencing skills with the ability to independently manage claims from first notice to resolution
  • Licensing: Currently holds or is willing to acquire adjuster licenses as required across various jurisdictions
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to diverse audiences
  • Educational Background: A university degree or equivalent is required

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Legal Background: A law degree or legal training is highly desirable and would be a strong asset in this role
  • Primary & Excess Environments: Experience navigating both primary and excess insurance claim environments
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to engage with clients, brokers, and internal business partners at a senior level
  • Portfolio Analysis: Experience providing high-level portfolio analysis and identifying claims trends to inform business strategy
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Experience working with Actuarial, Finance, Risk Management, or Underwriting teams
  • Industry Presence: Comfort representing an organization at industry conferences, client events, and professional society functions
  • International Exposure: Experience working with or providing guidance to international teams on US-specific trends and exposures
  • Self-Starter Mindset: Ability to work with minimal direct supervision while managing a complex and varied workload
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel approximately 5–10% of the time

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.

The estimated base salary range for this position in Kansas City or Chicago is $69,000 to $115,000. The estimated base salary range for this position in NYC is $75,000 to $125,000. The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.
